Beacon United has been one of the most eye-opening and meaningful projects of my life. We started with a simple mission: support people experiencing homelessness and change the way our community sees them. What began as small weekend efforts grew into a full nonprofit initiative that has provided meals, clothing, and care packages to over 1,000 unhoused individuals. Beyond direct support, we work to break the stigma around homelessness through education, awareness campaigns, and community events that spark honest conversations. Leading Beacon United taught me how powerful collective action can be. It showed me that real change starts with empathy and consistency, not just big ideas. Seeing people feel seen, heard, and treated with dignity has reshaped the way I understand impact. Beacon United gave me a deep sense of responsibility to use my voice and my time to serve others and to build with compassion at the center.
